Games like Dungleon
If you want another game about a hidden lineup of fantasy pieces, Meikyu is a close starting point. If you mainly want more deduction, Nerdle changes the pieces to arithmetic. These are different kinds of similarity, and neither is a replacement for every part of Dungleon.
We make Meikyu. This comparison focuses on mechanics rather than presenting every daily geography or movie quiz as a Dungleon equivalent.
Which part of Dungleon do you want more of?
Separate three things: arranging pieces, narrowing possibilities with feedback, and learning rules behind the answers. A game can share one without sharing the others. Start with that distinction before choosing another daily puzzle.
Meikyu: a personal dungeon descent
Arrange a five-slot lineup using a roster of 36 residents. Each floor gives you six tries. Feedback tells you whether a piece is correctly placed, present elsewhere or absent. Recurring rules about the residents become another source of deductions.
Progress follows your own floor. Winning can take you deeper on the same day; failure leaves you on that floor for a fresh puzzle tomorrow. The codex keeps your discoveries and resident records across runs.
The browser version is free through floor 19, with two additional descents and three training runs per local day. On iOS, floors 1–19 are free; the one-time Abyss Pass unlocks floor 20 and beyond. The app also supports offline play and iCloud sync.
Nerdle: feedback without fantasy pieces
Choose Nerdle if the satisfying part is reducing a set of candidates after each response. Arithmetic constrains its equations; it does not ask you to learn a dungeon’s residents or their hidden relationships.
When a broader list is more useful
If you only want a different daily subject, use the linked guide to games like Wordle. It separates geography, films, written clues and pieces. If discovering a system is your main interest, the hidden-rules guide distinguishes that from changing rules yourself.
Questions
Is Meikyu the same puzzle as Dungleon?
No. Meikyu has its own residents, rules and progression. It uses five slots and feedback, but your floor follows your personal progress and a win can let you continue that day.
Can I try Meikyu before downloading the app?
Yes. Use the browser version through floor 19. The iOS app adds offline play and iCloud sync; the one-time Abyss Pass opens floor 20 and beyond.
